Health ministry reviews Ayushman Bharat schemes, charts roadmap for next phase
The National Health Authority reviewed AB PM-JAY and ABDM with state officials in Kolkata, setting a roadmap for the next phase.

The National Health Authority held a two-day national review meeting in Kolkata on 5 and 6 November 2026. Officials from states and union territories examined how Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission are being implemented. The meeting ended with a shared plan for the next phase, stressing coordination between the Centre and states. West Bengal's integration with the national PM-JAY platform was highlighted, with over four crore Ayushman Cards generated in a short period.
For hospitals, the meeting flagged wider integration by providers and digital firms as a way to speed claims and improve their accuracy. Day two covered financing models, scheme convergence, digital integration and cybersecurity. The stated aim is better outcomes for beneficiaries, not just financing treatment.
