Netaji Subhas Medical College Gets NMC Nod for 44 More PG Seats

The National Medical Commission has cleared 44 additional postgraduate seats for Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital in Bihta, lifting its total PG intake from 74 to 118. The Patna Press report, dated 6 November 2026, says the seats span several departments and names Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, and Respiratory Medicine (TB and Chest), with four seats each. It also says three new PG specialisations will be introduced.

The college's management welcomed the approval and said the added seats would give medical students in the state more opportunities for higher medical education. The report does not give further detail on the remaining seats or on timelines for the new courses, so those points are not covered here.
