Apollo Hospitals Starts AI-Assisted Stroke Care Programme in Hyderabad on World Stroke Day
Apollo Hospitals introduced a 360-degree stroke pathway in Hyderabad, timed to World Stroke Day, linking 5G-connected ambulances with neuro-ICU care and home follow-up.

Apollo Hospitals has launched an AI-assisted stroke care programme in Hyderabad to mark World Stroke Day on 29 October, eHealth Magazine reported. The hospital calls it a 360-degree model that follows a patient from first emergency assessment through intensive care, rehabilitation and follow-up at home. Its emergency arm uses 5G-connected ambulances and rapid stroke assessment, so clinicians can start evaluating a patient before arrival. Clot-busting thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy are offered to eligible patients, including selected cases up to 24 hours after symptom onset.
Stroke is among India's leading causes of death and long-term disability, the report notes. For Indian hospitals, the model reflects a move toward linked pathways in which transport, imaging, specialist care and rehabilitation run together. Results will depend on timely access, clinical eligibility, specialist availability and care after discharge.
