Udupi physician G S Chandrashekar selected for Karnataka Rajyotsava Award 2026
Dr G S Chandrashekar, who founded Adarsha Hospital in Udupi, has been selected for the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award 2026, Daijiworld reported.

Daijiworld reported on 30 October that Dr G S Chandrashekar, a Udupi physician and social worker, was picked for this year's Karnataka Rajyotsava honour. His professional life began in 1991 as a medical officer at a government hospital in Udupi. In 2005 he founded Adarsha Hospital with 60 beds, and the facility now operates as a 200-bed super-specialty hospital. He is also president of the Adarsha Group of Educational Institutions.
Adarsha Hospital received NABH accreditation in mid-October, according to a hospital media release that said the facility was completing 20 years of service. The release said the accreditation was awarded under the sixth edition of NABH standards and covered areas such as patient safety, infection control and emergency services. For Indian hospital leaders, the item shows how a founder's public recognition can sit alongside formal quality accreditation at a single institution.
