No Significant Link Found Between COVID Vaccine Doses and Youth Heart Attacks
An ICMR study of adults aged 18 to 45 found no significant link between two or more COVID-19 doses and heart attacks.

A multi-centre study by the Indian Council of Medical Research, with researchers at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, examined adults aged 18 to 45. Across 25 hospitals, data gathered between October 2021 and January 2023 showed no statistically significant association between two or more COVID-19 vaccine doses and heart attack or blood clots. Researchers compared these patients with other hospitalised patients, using hospital records and direct patient contact.
Pre-existing conditions, smoking and family history were significant factors in the analysis. A report in The Tribune said the work appeared in the Indian Journal of Medical Research and covered 432 heart attack cases and 767 thrombotic events.
