Kashmiri-origin doctors’ research chosen for oral presentation at ESC 2026
Two Kashmiri-origin doctors at a Bristol hospital have had their research selected for an oral presentation at ESC Congress 2026.

Two doctors of Kashmiri origin, Dr Saalis Maqbool and Dr Abir Aijaz, work in the Acute Medicine Department at Weston General Hospital in Bristol, United Kingdom. Their research was selected for an oral presentation at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026 in Munich, Germany. According to the report, their paper was among only eight selected worldwide. Bristol NHS Foundation Trust has congratulated the pair.
The European Society of Cardiology Congress is a major international forum where specialists and researchers share scientific findings and discuss advances in heart care. The report frames the selection as an encouragement for young doctors and researchers, showing how clinical work and scientific inquiry can go together. It does not describe the research topic or its findings.
