Gujarat CM opens Patan cancer hospital; PET scans free for Ayushman cardholders
Gujarat's chief minister opened a cancer hospital in Patan on Sunday, with free PET scans for Ayushman Bharat cardholders.

Gujarat's chief minister, Bhupendra Patel, opened a new cancer hospital in Patan, north Gujarat, on Sunday, 1 November. The facility, run by the Jeevan Jyot Charitable Trust, will offer PET scans free to Ayushman Bharat cardholders, a service previously unavailable in the region. Donors who helped establish the hospital were honoured at the event.
Patients from north Gujarat previously travelled to Ahmedabad for several specialised cancer services. The trust plans further super-speciality care, such as transplantation and robotic surgery, which the report says are not yet available locally. For Indian hospital planners, this illustrates regional expansion of diagnostic imaging and oncology capacity outside metropolitan centres.
