Cancer took someone he loved. Years later, he chose to fight the same disease for others.
Dr. Smit Desai’s journey did not begin with a perfect plan.
He wanted to study medicine. He could not get a medical seat. Dental felt like a compromise.
Then one lecture changed everything.
He discovered that oral cancer surgery could become his path. What once felt like a setback slowly turned into purpose.
Years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Oncology followed. Today, he is the Founder of Hiyanshi Oral Cancer Hospital, Ahmedabad, dedicated to treating patients with oral cancer.
His story is also a reminder of something bigger.
Too many patients still reach specialists late, often after losing valuable time to misinformation, delayed consultation or unproven remedies.
For Dr. Smit Desai, the mission is not only to treat cancer.
It is to give patients clarity, courage and a reason to keep fighting.
